Women in Motorsports North America Announces Second Year of SHEro Award Recognizing Women Making Significant Contributions to Motorsports

PHOENIX, May 21, 2024 ~ Women in Motorsports North America (WIMNA) and Jostens have announced the second year of their unique SHEro Award and recognition program. As the official award provider for NASCAR, IndyCar, NHRA, and numerous other motorsports awards, Jostens is proud to partner with WIMNA in highlighting and celebrating outstanding women in the industry.

The SHEro Award was created to recognize women who have made significant contributions to advancing motorsports through their hard work and dedication. It also serves as a way to inspire the next generation of females entering the sport. Nominations for this prestigious award can be submitted for team members, track management, industry professionals, and more.

To nominate a deserving SHEro recipient, individuals can complete an application and purchase the SHEro trophy from Jostens at https://womeninmotorsportsna.com/shero/. The profits from each trophy sold will be donated to WIMNA.

Those who submit a nomination will also receive an engraved award to present to their SHEro for $175. All nominations received before October 31, 2024, will automatically be entered to win the National WIMNA SHEro Award. The winner of this coveted award will be announced at the Women with Drive IV Summit driven by Mobil 1 in Indianapolis in December 2024. The national winner will receive complimentary admission to the summit, including paid flight and hotel expenses. They will also have the opportunity to speak about their experiences and highlight their efforts that led them to be recognized.

Last year's inaugural SHEro Award saw thirteen women nominated, with Abigail Hempy taking home the national title. Hempy is a Powertrain Engineer at NASCAR Research & Development Center.
