~ Bloomington Offers Free Parking to Support Small Business Saturday and Holiday Shopping
The City of Bloomington is taking steps to promote Small Business Saturday and make local holiday shopping more convenient for residents. In a recent press release, the city announced that it will be offering free parking in all public garages and on-street parking spaces on select dates this holiday season.
According to Jane Kupersmith, the City's Director of Economic and Sustainable Development, Small Business Saturday is a crucial day for local retailers. In 2023, the event generated $17 million in revenue nationally. By supporting small businesses, the city hopes to invest in its neighbors, retain dollars in the local economy, strengthen community relationships, and help Bloomington's unique character flourish.
