The City of Bloomington Launches Free Small Business Technical Assistance Partnership Hosted by Retail Strategies

~ Bloomington, IN - The City of Bloomington has announced the launch of a new program aimed at supporting and empowering local small businesses, restaurants, property owners, retailers, and entrepreneurs. The Small Business Technical Assistance Partnership, developed by Retail Strategies, offers on-demand virtual training courses to help businesses adapt to a changing marketplace.

Retail Strategies, a company specializing in business recruitment and community development, created this program in response to the needs identified in a 2020 Main Street America survey. The program provides resources and training to help small businesses build an online presence and adjust to new market conditions. Best of all, it is completely free for all businesses within the City of Bloomington.

The Small Business Technical Assistance Partnership offers a variety of targeted courses to meet the specific needs of different types of businesses. These include the Omni-Channel Retail Strategies Training Course, which helps business owners understand digital marketing and social media commerce; the Restaurant Resiliency Training Course, which provides strategies for adjusting to the post-pandemic industry; and the Property Owner Training & Toolkit Course, which equips property owners with tools for preparing their properties for new tenants.

Other courses offered include the Holiday Trends & Preparations Training Course, which focuses on economic predictions and strategies for the upcoming holiday season; and the Business Modernization Training Course, which explores the latest shifts and innovations in business practices.

Each course comes with comprehensive marketing materials to help businesses maximize their learning and application. Participants will also have access to an extensive resource library filled with templates and worksheets. In addition, a module focusing on college-town economies will be launched in the fall.
