SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., March 7, 2025 ~ Taylor Morrison, America's Most Trusted® Home Builder, is making waves in the construction industry with a growing number of women joining its organization. In celebration of Women in Construction Week, recognized from March 2-8, the company is highlighting the achievements of women in construction roles and releasing new workforce statistics.

According to Taylor Morrison Chairman and CEO Sheryl Palmer, who has been leading the company since 2007 and remains the only female to ever lead a publicly traded homebuilder, "With the homebuilding industry traditionally being male-dominated, we are incredibly proud of the women at Taylor Morrison who continue to challenge that status quo and pursue the immense opportunities this meaningful career can provide for everyone."

The company's efforts have not gone unnoticed. As of March 2025, Taylor Morrison reported an 887% increase in women holding construction roles over the past decade. This is a significant achievement considering that women only make up 11% of the U.S. construction industry on average. Additionally, Taylor Morrison boasts a female representation of 45% in its workforce, which is more than four times higher than the industry average.

One example of a woman excelling in her role at Taylor Morrison is Haley Hoffman, Assistant Land Project Manager for Dallas Build-to-Rent. Despite not starting her career in homebuilding, Hoffman has seen exceptional growth within just three years at Taylor Morrison. She started as a permit administrator and quickly moved up to become a Land Analyst for Taylor Morrison's build-for-rent brand Yardly. Her hard work and dedication led to an opportunity to train with project managers and eventually land her current role.

When asked about her advice for other women interested in pursuing a career in construction, Hoffman said: "Don't be afraid to ask questions and overcommunicate. If there's an opportunity to shadow someone who's an expert, take it!"

Autumn Schmicker, a Superintendent based in Indianapolis, has been with Taylor Morrison for six years. Schmicker's passion for construction began during her childhood as she watched her father run his own residential construction business. She was inspired to follow in his footsteps and now enjoys the variety that comes with each day on the job.

Tracey Michaels, a Superintendent based in Jacksonville, has been with Taylor Morrison for five years and has already delivered 100 homes. As a former Aviation Electrician in the Navy, Michaels brings a unique skill set to her role. She started her career at Taylor Morrison in Warranty but always had a desire to be on the building side. Now as a Superintendent, she feels like her career has come full circle.

"I love starting from dirt and seeing a completed product in the end," said Michaels. "There's nothing more rewarding than seeing the joy on a homeowner's face after delivering their dream home."

Taylor Morrison is proud of its growing number of women in construction roles and is committed to creating opportunities for people from all backgrounds to consider a career in this industry. With strong female leadership and a diverse workforce, Taylor Morrison continues to break barriers and pave the way for future generations of women in construction.
