Color 5K provides more support for youth service and leadership program at local schools
LAFAYETTE, Ind. - IndianaStop -- During their local fall conference on Wednesday, representatives from Multiplying Good and Students in Action received a check from Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) for $50,230.35.
"We're proud to continue investing in our youth and supporting their efforts to make a difference in the community," said Ed Wulbrecht, senior vice president at SIA and president of the SIA Foundation. "As beneficiary of our Color 5K, we're providing Students in Action with additional support to empower students to make an impact."
A program of Multiplying Good, Students in Action launched in Greater Lafayette in 2015 with support from SIA. The program teaches students in grades 6 through 12 about leadership skills through serving others.
Participants from Jefferson, McCutcheon and Oakland High Schools, along with Sunnyside Intermediate, Tecumseh Junior High and Wea Ridge Middle Schools have served many local nonprofits, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Food Finders Food Bank, Grant's House, Habitat for Humanity, LTHC Homeless Services, Mental Health America, Natalie's Second Chance, Support Our Troops and YWCA of Greater Lafayette.
