June 16, 2025 ~ Starting Tuesday, June 17, the final phase of construction at the Ireland Road and Ironwood Drive intersection will begin. This marks the sixth and last phase of the intersection improvement project that has been ongoing since early this year.
According to officials, this phase will primarily focus on the center lanes of Ireland Road, including the intersection itself. The main task at hand will be paving the final layer of asphalt across the entire intersection. To minimize disruption, this work will be carried out at night.
During this phase, drivers can expect some changes in traffic flow. Left turns from all directions at the intersection will be prohibited. Northbound and southbound traffic will not be able to pass through the intersection. Drivers on Ironwood Drive will only be allowed to turn right onto Ireland Road while those on Ireland Road can continue straight or turn right.

To accommodate for these restrictions, detours have been put in place. Northbound traffic will be directed east on Ireland Road, then north on Bremen Highway and finally west on Lincoln Way East. Southbound traffic will detour west on Ireland Drive, then south on Miami Street before heading east on Jackson Road.
Despite these changes, access to all businesses in the impacted areas will still be maintained during construction.
This intersection improvement project includes a full reconstruction of pavement, curb realignment and upgraded traffic signals. Divided into six phases, each one is expected to take up to 21 days to complete (weather permitting). As work progresses through each phase, there may be varying traffic restrictions and closures. The entire project is expected to be completed by early July (weather permitting).
Graphics have been attached for further clarification regarding these changes in traffic flow. Officials urge drivers to plan their routes accordingly and follow all posted signs for their safety and that of others during this final phase of construction at the Ireland Road and Ironwood Drive intersection.
