June 9, 2026 — The City of South Bend has begun roadway and infrastructure improvements near Marshall School along Byron and Springbrook drives.

Improvements include the construction of new curbs and sidewalks along the north side of Byron Drive and the west side of Springbrook Drive, and repaving of Byron Drive between York Road and Springbrook Drive. New crosswalks will be painted to allow for safer pedestrian crossing in the area. The project also includes upgrades to the tennis courts at Marshall Park.
