~ The City of South Bend's Engagement and Economic Empowerment (EEE) team has announced the highly anticipated schedule for the 5th year of the Linden Avenue Farmer's Market. This seasonal market is a collaborative effort between local and regional farmers, food vendors, health and wellbeing organizations, and food outreach coordinators to address the issue of food insecurity in the community.
According to Mary McAfee, Director of the Engagement and Economic Empowerment Team, this initiative aims to provide fresh, locally grown produce and culturally appropriate food options to residents through the Linden Avenue Farmers Market. "We are thrilled to be returning to our original site at the MLK Dream Center," said McAfee. "Our goal is to empower the community by offering healthy food choices at an affordable cost while also supporting local farmers, vendors, and entrepreneurs."
