~ South Bend City officials have announced the launch of the sixth annual Build the Budget program, aimed at engaging residents and gathering their input for the 2027 budget season. This initiative, which has been successful in previous years, allows citizens to voice their priorities and ideas for the city's future.

Mayor James Mueller emphasized the importance of resident participation in shaping the city's budget and community. He encouraged all residents to take part in this process and make their voices heard.

The Build the Budget program will run from now until September 27th, giving residents ample time to provide their feedback. City staff will be collecting ideas and suggestions through an online budget survey, 311 voicemails, and interactive budget games at community events. Last year, over 2,200 resident engagements were recorded, and officials hope to surpass that number this year.
