December 22, 2025 ~ The City of South Bend has released its holiday trash pickup schedule for the upcoming two weeks. In light of Christmas and New Year's Day, residents with Thursday routes can expect a one-day delay in their trash collection.
According to city officials, all municipal offices will be closed on Thursday, December 25 and Thursday, January 1 to observe the holidays.
For the week of December 22, residents can expect normal trash pickup on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. However, there will be no trash pickup on Christmas Day (Thursday). Instead, areas that are normally serviced on Thursdays will have their trash collected on Friday, December 26.

Similarly, for the week of December 29, residents can anticipate normal pickup on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. There will be no trash collection on New Year's Day (Thursday), with areas normally serviced on Thursdays having their trash picked up on Friday, January 2.
