~ Bloomington, IN - The Bloomington Arts Commission (BAC) has announced its 2025 grant cycles in partnership with the Bloomington Urban Enterprise Association (BUEA). These grants aim to fund the arts and promote cultural experiences in the city.
The BAC will be administering three grant cycles in 2025. The first is the Arts Projects Grants, which will provide funds for public-facing arts programming in Bloomington. Projects must take place between April 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026. The award amount for this cycle is up to $4000, but most awardees will not receive full funding. Applications for this cycle will be open from Tuesday, February 18 to Friday, March 27, 2025. The awards will be announced in May and disbursed in June of that year.
The second cycle is the Artistic Advancement Grants, which aim to support the professional career advancement of artists living and working in Bloomington. Funds can be used for expenses incurred between July 1, 2025 and December 31, 2026. The award amount for this cycle is up to $2000. Applications will be open from Monday, May 19 to Friday, June 28, 2025. The awards will be announced in August and disbursed in September of that year.

Lastly, the Operations Arts Grants are available to support operational costs for non-profit organizations with arts-centered missions and a significant impact on Bloomington. Eligible organizations must have an annual operating budget of no more than $500,000. Funds can be used for expenses incurred between July 1, 2025 and December 31, 2026. The award amount for this cycle is up to $5000, but most awardees will not receive full funding. Applications will be open from Monday, August 11 to Friday, September 19, 2025. The awards will be announced in November and disbursed in December of that year.
Gerard Pannekoek, BAC Chair, expressed gratitude for the increased funding from the City Council and emphasized the commission's commitment to supporting local artists and arts groups. "We're very excited for the year ahead and hoping to see interest from new and familiar faces alike," he said.

The BAC has allocated $180,000 for 2025 grants, which will come from their annual General and LIT budget lines, as well as the BUEA's annual budget. Additionally, Bloomington Arts Commissioners will be holding office hours for those who wish to discuss the application process.
