Indiana Home Care Company Expansion to 10 States across the U.S
INDIANAPOLIS - IndianaStop -- INDIANA – For the families of Indiana, Family Over Gold Graceful Living Home Care has long been more than a service—it's been a lifeline. Founded in 2021 by Stephon Peters Smith, a [Former Caregiver/Community Advocate], the agency has redefined what it means to provide in-home care, blending clinical excellence with unwavering compassion. Today, the company announces a milestone: By 2025, it will expand its unique model of care to 10 additional states, bringing its signature "family-first" philosophy to thousands of new families.
A Legacy Built on Love
The seeds of Family Over Gold were planted decades ago, when Stephon witnessed her own grandmother's struggle to find dignified care. "She deserved more than just medication reminders and meal prep," he recalls. "She deserved joy, connection, and the chance to leave a legacy." This personal journey inspired a business model where caregivers are trained not just in CPR or dementia care, but in the art of human connection.

In Indiana, that vision has blossomed into tangible impact:
Nourishing Communities: In 2023 alone, the agency's annual "Harvest of Hope" food drive delivered 2,300 meals to seniors across Columbus, Louisville, Indianapolis, Franklin and Seymour partnering with local farms and chefs to provide nutrient-rich, culturally familiar dishes. One recipient, 84-year-old Martha Thompson of Indianapolis, shared: "When my caregiver brought me collard greens just like my mama used to make? I knew I wasn't just a client—I was family."
Charity Beyond Checkbooks: Beyond monetary donations, Family Over Gold staff volunteer over 500 hours yearly at charities like The Salvation Army, offering free respite care nights where overwhelmed families can recharge.
Expanding with Intentionality
The decision to expand followed years of requests from out-of-state families who discovered Family Over Gold through viral social media posts or relocated Indiana clients. "A daughter in Arizona begged us to help her mom after 6 agencies failed to show up," shares [Stephon]. "We realized: Our model isn't just 'nice'—it's necessary."

The 10 new states—selected for their growing senior populations and alignment with Family Over Gold's values—will see a phased rollout starting in late 2024. Each location will mirror Indiana's approach:
Hiring locally rooted caregivers with deep community ties.
Partnering with regional farms, artists, and nonprofits for hyperlocal impact.
Rejecting corporate scripts in favor of authentic, client-led care plans.
