~ Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry is bringing back the city's Traveling City Hall tradition this month. The first Traveling City Hall of the Terry administration will take place on Thursday, February 22 at 5:30 p.m. in partnership with United Neighborhoods of Evansville at the C.K. Newsome Community Center.

The event will precede the regular United Neighborhoods of Evansville meeting at 6:30 p.m., where Mayor Terry will also be speaking. This initiative aims to provide a platform for direct communication between city officials and the citizens of Evansville.

Mayor Terry expressed her excitement about the opportunity to hear directly from the people of Evansville and address their concerns in real time. "One of the best parts of running for mayor was having the opportunity to hear directly from the people of Evansville – to hear their concerns, answer their questions, and to just listen to what they have to say about our city," she said.

The Traveling City Hall meetings will be held quarterly throughout 2024, with each event taking place in a different part of the city and in partnership with different community organizations. This allows for a diverse range of voices and perspectives to be heard.

Joe Ballard, operations manager for United Neighborhoods of Evansville, expressed his organization's excitement about partnering with Mayor Terry's administration for this event. "This kind of direct dialogue between citizens and city officials is critical to a strong, thriving Evansville, and we're proud to be part of making that happen," he said.

The upcoming Traveling City Hall meetings will take place in May, August, and November 2024. The dates, locations, and community partners associated with these events will be announced at the February 22 meeting. Citizens are encouraged to attend and participate in this important conversation about their city's future.
