~ Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry has announced the release of a comprehensive Strategic Plan for city government, developed in collaboration with Crowe LLP and informed by input from city officials, employees, and nearly 800 residents. The plan, described as a "guiding framework" for the city's future, aims to improve efficiency of government operations while ensuring transparency and accountability.
According to Mayor Terry, the plan will serve as both a roadmap and a management tool to align leaders, resources, and operations with the shared mission and vision of serving the people of Evansville. She emphasized that the plan focuses on efficient government operations, strengthening public services, and making those services more accessible and responsive to all residents.
The full plan includes defined Mission and Vision statements for the city, as well as four core focus areas for city government. These areas include advancing organizational excellence and innovation by modernizing the city's structure and processes, updating outdated policies and procedures, and implementing the strategic plan. The plan also prioritizes modernizing city technologies to address core needs and improve public transportation experience.

Creating opportunities to connect is another key focus area of the plan. This includes promoting transparent government, supporting internal collaboration efforts, and strengthening communication channels within the city. Additionally, Mayor Terry highlighted the importance of prioritizing people and places by recruiting and retaining a skilled workforce, providing opportunities for further skills development and training, improving facilities and workspaces, enhancing parks and public green spaces, revitalizing neighborhoods, improving infrastructure such as roads and sidewalks, and furthering sustainability efforts.
In the coming weeks, city officials will work alongside Crowe LLP to create an implementation plan that will establish performance metrics, working groups, and timelines for achieving the goals outlined in the strategic plan. Updates on this progress will be shared through the City of Evansville - Government page on Facebook.
The full Strategic Plan for City Government can be accessed through associated documents provided by Mayor Terry's office. With this forward-thinking plan in place, Evansville is poised to continue serving and supporting its community in a more efficient and effective manner.
