The City of Fishers is gearing up for the public opening of its new, 105,000-square-foot Fishers Community Center, Strengthened by IU Health.

"The Fishers Community Center represents years of collaboration, planning, and listening to our residents," said Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness. "This facility is more than just a place for fitness; it's a place where our community can come together to live healthier, connect with one another, and strengthen the fabric of our city."

While the facility officially opens to the public on November 1, this week marks the beginning of an exclusive, early-access period for charter members who joined the center prior to September 15.

The facility located at 11400 Johnson Farm Way, near the intersection of Hoosier Road and 121^st Street, was shaped by years of resident input and designed to serve as a hub for health, wellness, and community. Highlights include a 9,800 square foot aquatics center with Central Indiana's first NinjaCross System, an 11,000 square-foot fitness center; a two-story indoor playground; indoor walking track; and future dog park.

The Fishers Health Department (FHD) marked its first day of clinic operations at its new headquarters and clinic with a ribbon cutting today. The FHD relocated to the community center from its former headquarters on Technology Drive. FHD is now accepting appointments for COVID, flu and travel vaccinations, testing, and other preventive care, with plans to offer expanded opportunities for health education and community events at the facility. "The Fishers Health Department is excited to call the Fishers Community Center, Strengthened by IU Health, our new home," said Fishers Health Department Director Monica Heltz. "The centralized location will offer our residents convenient access to many of our clinical and educational services, including vaccinations, testing, and other preventive care, along with education on topics such as healthy aging, suicide prevention, and much more. This move expands our ability to deliver the accessible health resources our residents deserve."

The Fishers Community Center is part of the City's ongoing efforts to grow and improve residents' culture of health, with support from IU Health as the City's health and wellness partner.

The center also features Sahm's Community Café, a new dining concept from Sahm's Hospitality Group that is open to all regardless of membership.

"The original Sahm's Restaurant opened in Fishers in 1986. Now, almost exactly 40 years later, we are excited to begin something new with the city again," said Eddie Sahm, Vice President of Business Development at Sahm's Hospitality Group. "With a focus on fresh, delicious food, we hope that we can add to an already amazing space. We have made a menu that can adapt to whatever the day has in store. Coffee or latte after a swim, grab and go after a workout, lunch or dinner while kids play, sandwich to take home after a basketball game. Grand Opening Celebration

To celebrate the opening of the Fishers Community Center, residents and members are encouraged to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community open house on Saturday, November 1 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Guests will enjoy a morning of celebration, including a ribbon cutting with City officials, opportunities to connect with community partners, including IU Health, Riley Children's Health, Sahm's Community Café, and the Fishers Health Department, as well as engaging activities, exploration of the facility, membership sign-ups, a flu vaccine clinic with the Fishers Health Department, and more. During the event, the facility will be open for exploration only, and use of equipment and amenities such as the indoor playground, fitness center, and aquatics facility will not be permitted until noon.

Memberships & Free Amenities

While memberships are required for full access to the facility's amenities, the indoor playground, track, and Sahm's Community Café are open to all with a free Community Pass.
