~ Fishers, IN- The City of Fishers has recently announced the recipients of its Neighborhood Vibrancy Grant Program, awarding a total of $337,086.59 to 18 local neighborhoods. This follows an earlier distribution of nearly $400,000 to 28 neighborhoods in the spring. With a total of $750,000 distributed this year, applications for the remainder of 2024 are now closed.
Mayor Scott Fadness expressed his excitement about the success of the revamped program, stating, "I am blown away by the response to our Neighborhood Vibrancy Grant Program. With a record high number of applicants in 2024, it's evident that our residents and HOAs are dedicated to improving vibrancy and building community within their neighborhoods." He also noted that the additional investment of $650,000 this year has supported a total of 46 Fishers neighborhoods, ultimately enhancing livability and quality of life in the community.
Under Mayor Fadness' leadership, the Neighborhood Vibrancy Grant program has seen significant growth from its previous annual budget of $100,000 to $750,000. The program aims to fund creative and innovative infrastructure projects that contribute to the vibrancy of Fishers' neighborhoods. In addition to increased funding, Mayor Fadness also lowered the financial requirements for applicants from a 50-50 match to only 20% from residents and HOAs.
