~ The City of Fishers has joined forces with Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity to host the Fishers Community Panel Build on Friday, October 3. The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Holland Park, located at 1 Park Drive.

Bringing together nearly 100 volunteers and local partners, the Fishers Community Panel Build aims to construct the exterior and interior wall panels for a future Habitat home. This project will provide a safe and stable living space for a family in the Greater Indianapolis area.

Mayor Scott Fadness expressed his excitement for the event, stating that it embodies the true spirit of Fishers - community, partnership, and collaboration. He believes that by teaming up with Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity and receiving support from local businesses and volunteers, they are not just building walls but also strengthening connections within the community.

The morning will kick off with a board-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m., featuring Mayor Fadness and other community partners. This event is an opportunity to showcase the importance of affordable homeownership in promoting health, stability, and economic prosperity for both families and communities.

Jim Morris, President & CEO of Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity, emphasized the significance of this project in light of the increasing difficulty for families to achieve homeownership. He commended the Fishers community for coming together to build walls for a future home of a first-time buyer. Morris also expressed his gratitude towards sponsors Meyer Najem, RQAW, OfficeWorks, Republic Services, Indy Fuel, Indy Ignite, Fishers Freight, Inherent Commercial, Main Event Merchandise Group, and BJ's Wholesale who have contributed both funding and volunteers to make this event possible.
