Evansville, Ind. ~ The City of Evansville has announced the schedule for its 2026 Summer Block-by-Block Neighborhood Cleanup events, set to begin on May 29th. This program, now in its second year, aims to bring city services directly into neighborhoods and strengthen connections between residents and available resources.
Under the leadership of Mayor Stephanie Terry, the Block-by-Block initiative has been working alongside neighbors, city departments, and community partners to invest in areas that have historically been overlooked. The program's goal is to revitalize neighborhoods one block at a time.
"We know that beautiful and safe neighborhoods are a critical component of any thriving community," said Mayor Terry. "Through our Block-by-Block initiative, we're working to restore pride in place and ensure all Evansville residents live in safe, vibrant, and welcoming neighborhoods."

The schedule for the Summer 2026 Block-by-Block events is as follows:
- Friday, May 29 - Jacobsville Neighborhood
- Friday, June 12 - Tepe Park
Each event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. During these events, city departments, nonprofit partners, and volunteers will work together on various activities such as minor street repairs, lawn and weed maintenance, litter removal, tree care, and code enforcement follow-up.
In addition to these efforts, city officials will also be going door-to-door during each event to connect with residents and share information about available city services.
The Block-by-Block initiative is part of Mayor Terry's broader Neighborhood Revitalization program. Since its launch in 2024, the program has made significant progress in restoring pride in place and reducing trash and weed violations. To date, over 20,000 tons of trash have been collected across seven neighborhoods.
Community members interested in volunteering for these events can register by filling out the volunteer form on the City of Evansville's website at www.evansvillegov.org/block.
