~ Bloomington, IN- The City of Bloomington is gearing up to host the National Million Father March on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. The event will take place at Fairview Elementary School, located at 500 W. 7th Street, starting at 8:30 a.m.
Organized locally by the City of Bloomington Commission on the Status of Black Males and part of a nationwide initiative led by Fathers Incorporated, the Million Father March aims to encourage fathers, father figures, and male mentors to accompany students to school during the first week of the academic year.
Shatoyia Moss, Community and Family Resources Director for the City of Bloomington, expressed her excitement for the event stating, "The Million Father March is a powerful reminder of what's possible when we show up for our children. When fathers and mentors walk through those school doors, they're not just offering presence - they're planting seeds of confidence, safety, and belonging. This moment reinforces to students that their community believes in them and is committed to walking alongside them in their educational journey."
