~ Bloomington, IN- The City of Bloomington has recently released updated community resource guides to assist residents in accessing free and reduced-cost basic services. These guides are now available for download on the city's website, bloomington.in.gov/cfrd.
The newly released guides include the 2025 Senior Resource Guide and 2025 Senior Healthcare Guide, published by the Commission on Aging. These guides are tailored to adults ages 55 and older and provide a comprehensive listing of free and low-cost services for seniors.
In addition, the 2025 Quick Reference Guide has been updated to offer a broad overview of essential services such as housing, healthcare, food and nutrition, transportation, legal aid, disability services, education, culture, children and families. This guide serves as an accessible starting point for individuals seeking assistance in these areas.
The City of Bloomington has also collaborated with the Monroe County Health Department's Suicide Overdose Fatality Review (SOFR) Action Team to develop a new Substance Use Disorder Resource Guide. This guide is designed to support individuals at any stage of addiction or recovery and includes information on harm reduction, recovery support services, residential treatment programs, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), outpatient services and essential needs like food, housing and legal assistance.
