The City of Bloomington is on the lookout for a talented artist or artist team to transform a new community event trailer into a vibrant work of art. The 6'x12' cargo trailer, which will be available for free to neighborhoods, community groups, and City departments, will serve as a mobile hub for block parties, pop-up events, and meetings across the city.
According to city officials, the selected design will not only represent Bloomington's lively community but also showcase its creative identity. The city is seeking a design that is engaging, welcoming, and reflective of Bloomington's character. As the trailer travels throughout the city, it will not only promote the availability of this community resource but also highlight the artistic talent within Bloomington.

The call for proposals is open to all professional artists and artist teams aged 18 and older. The chosen artist will receive a $1,000 honorarium for their work, and the City will handle the printing and application of the design.
"We are thrilled that this new community resource will also serve as an opportunity to showcase the work of Bloomington's talented local artists," said a spokesperson from the City. "We envision a fun and inviting exterior design that reflects our vibrant community spirit. Inside, the trailer will be equipped with all necessary supplies to host an amazing community event."
Design proposals must be submitted online by 11:59 EST on Friday, March 28. Interested artists can find full details and submission guidelines in this document provided by the City.
