Bloomington: Volunteer Fair Connects Residents with Local Nonprofit Opportunities

Trending...
~ The City of Bloomington Volunteer Network (CBVN) is gearing up for its annual Volunteer Fair, set to take place on Saturday, Sept. 6 at Fernandez Plaza in front of Bloomington City Hall. The fair will run from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will coincide with the popular Saturday Bloomington Community Farmers' Market.

According to Shatoyia Moss, Director of the Bloomington Community and Family Resources Department, the Volunteer Fair presents a unique opportunity for residents to directly connect with local nonprofits serving the Bloomington, Monroe County, and surrounding areas. "It's a space where organizations can showcase their programs and share their needs, while community members can ask questions, explore causes they care about, and discover meaningful ways to get involved," Moss stated. "If you've ever wondered how to make a difference locally, this event is a great place to start."

Table registration for the fair is currently open and free of charge. However, space is limited and registration will close on August 29 or once all spots are filled.

The CBVN's mission is to foster a strong, healthy, and engaged community by connecting volunteers of all ages with opportunities to serve and providing resources for volunteers and agencies to develop creative and effective volunteer projects, programs, and partnerships. The organization aims to inspire, support, and celebrate volunteerism in the community.
