The development of the new MTP requires public involvement and review by various BMCMPO committees before it can be submitted to state and federal agencies for final approval. The input provided by meeting attendees will play a crucial role in shaping long-term transportation investments for the region.
The draft plan will be available for public review from December 5, 2024 to January 6, 2025. It can be accessed online at bloomington.in.gov/mpo/metropolitan-transportation-plan or in printed form at the Bloomington Planning and Transportation Department located at 401 N. Morton St., Ste. 130.
During this review period, the public is encouraged to submit comments through various methods, including filling out a comment form at the meeting, emailing mpo@bloomington.in.gov, or mailing written comments to BMCMPO at P.O. Box 100, Bloomington, IN 47402. All comments will be reviewed and shared with BMCMPO committees as they consider the final adoption of the MTP.
The Technical Advisory and Citizens Advisory Committees will meet on January 22, 2025 to discuss the plan, and the Policy Committee will vote on adoption on February 14, 2025.
For more information or to provide input on the MTP, individuals can visit the BMCMPO website or contact them directly at mpo@bloomington.in.gov. The BMCMPO is dedicated to creating a comprehensive and effective transportation plan for the region with input from the community.
