Bloomington: Nominations Open for the 2025 Outstanding Leaders of Tomorrow Award

~ Bloomington, IN- The City of Bloomington's Commission on the Status of Black Males (CSBM) has announced that they are now accepting nominations for the 2025 Outstanding Black Leaders of Tomorrow Award. This prestigious award aims to honor two exceptional African American individuals, one male-identifying and one female-identifying, in two categories: high school students and adults aged 30 or younger.

The awards will be presented at the annual Black History Month Gala Celebration in February, where the achievements of these outstanding individuals will be highlighted. The CSBM hopes to recognize those who have made a positive and meaningful impact in the Bloomington community through their leadership, academic excellence, and community involvement.

For the high school category, nominees must be currently enrolled African American students who demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, academic excellence, and significant involvement in initiatives that have visibly improved the Bloomington community. In the adult category, nominees must be African American individuals aged 30 or younger who showcase exceptional leadership abilities, scholarship achievements, or professional and personal contributions that have made a meaningful impact on the community.

In addition to these requirements, all nominees must have been residents of Monroe County for at least one year prior to nomination. Nominations can be submitted until Tuesday, February 11th through the CSBM website at bloomington.in.gov/csbm by completing an online nomination form.
