The BMCHRC is specifically looking for nominees who have made significant efforts to help residents access housing, employment, public spaces, or services. They also encourage nominations of those who have brought people together in ways that promote understanding and strengthen connections within the community. Nominations can be based on a long-standing commitment to supporting human rights or on specific projects undertaken in 2025.
As the enforcer of the local Human Rights Ordinance, the Bloomington/Monroe County Human Rights Commission also provides education to ensure that residents are aware of their rights and responsibilities under the law.
