~ Bloomington Mayor Kerry Thomson is set to host a Traveling Town Hall on Thursday, November 7, at Sherwood Oaks Church. The event, which will run from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., aims to engage with different segments of the Bloomington community.
The town hall will be divided into two sessions, with the first session open to all Bloomington residents from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. During this time, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with local government officials and gain insight into various city projects and services. City Council members Courtney Daily and Matt Flaherty are expected to attend.
The second session, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., will focus specifically on the Hispanic and Latinx community. To ensure accessibility and facilitate participation, translators from Iglesia Hispana Sherwood Oaks will be available. Council member Isak Nti Asare will also join this discussion.

These Traveling Town Halls are part of Mayor Thomson's efforts to make local government more accessible and responsive. Held every other month in different districts, these meetings provide a platform for residents to connect with their representatives, voice concerns, and stay informed about ongoing city initiatives.
Upon arrival at the event, attendees will receive index cards to write down any questions or comments they may have for the mayor and council members. Mayor Thomson will begin the event with a brief update on current city projects before addressing the submitted questions. If time permits, there will also be a live Q&A session.
