~ Bloomington Mayor Kerry Thomson is taking steps to increase public engagement and communication with the community by hosting a series of events throughout the month of December. These events will provide residents with opportunities to connect with city leadership, share feedback, and stay informed about city initiatives.
The events, covering topics such as city projects and annexation, aim to create a platform for both the public and media to engage directly with Mayor Thomson and other local leaders. Three unique events have been planned to offer a variety of ways for residents to participate.
The first event, called the Traveling Town Hall, will take place on Tuesday, December 3 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Monroe County Public Library-Downtown. Mayor Thomson will be joined by Council Member Sydney Zulich to provide updates on city projects and services. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage in an interactive forum where they can ask questions and learn more about ongoing initiatives.
On Monday, December 9 from 5:30-6:30 p.m., Mayor Thomson will lead an Annexation Listening Session at the Monroe County Public Library-Southwest Branch. This session will also feature Margie Rice, Corporation Counsel for the City of Bloomington, and will focus on the annexation process. The discussion will address resident feedback and examine how annexation impacts Bloomington's future.
