Bloomington, Ind. ~ Bloomington, Ind. - The annual Holiday Market, hosted by Parks and Recreation, is quickly approaching and local and regional artists are invited to apply for vending space at the event. The market will take place on November 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 401 N. Morton St. in Bloomington, next to City Hall.
Interested artists can submit their applications online or by calling 812-349-3725 to request an application. There is a non-refundable jury fee of $20 per application. To be considered for participation, applications must be received by August 22 at 11:59 p.m.
The applications will be divided into ten categories including clay, drawing/painting/photography, fiber arts, metalwork/woodwork, glass, jewelry, natural materials, personal care, recycled arts, and surface decoration. A jury will review the works and select artists based on the style and quality of their work, pricing of their products, and diversity among the chosen artists.

All items for sale at the Holiday Market must be original and made by the applicant themselves. The works must also meet safety standards and exhibit quality craftsmanship.
Visitors to the Holiday Market can expect to find a variety of seasonal products such as locally grown farm produce, artisan foods and beverages from small local businesses, as well as unique art pieces and fine crafts made by local artists.
For more information about the Holiday Market or to receive an artist application, interested individuals can contact Crystal Ritter at 812-349-3725 or ritterc@bloomington.in.gov.
However, Parks and Recreation has issued a fraud alert warning against unauthorized individuals who may attempt to sell event tickets or booth spaces for the Holiday Market through online platforms or social media. These are scams as there is no cost for shoppers to attend the market and all vendors are selected through a juried process. Booth spaces are also non-transferrable. The only official website for booth space payments is through Parks and Recreation's website. Any other forms of payment should not be sent.
The Holiday Market promises to be a festive and enjoyable event for all, showcasing the talents of local and regional artists while providing a unique shopping experience for visitors.
