~ As the final event of the 2025 seasonal closure of Kirkwood Avenue, Hoosier Hoops, comes to an end, the 300 block of East Kirkwood Avenue is set to reopen to vehicles and parking on Friday, October 3. This block includes the Monroe County Public Library and with its reopening, traffic and parking access will return to the area.

However, this does not mean that all blocks of Kirkwood Avenue will be open for vehicles. The closures will continue through Monday, November 10 with the western half-block of the 100 block remaining closed and the 400 and 500 blocks fully closed.

For those looking for parking options downtown, there are several convenient options available. Metered street parking, surface lots, and public parking garages are all available. It is important to note that parking meters and pay stations are enforced from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday but are free on Sundays and all official City of Bloomington holidays. Payment can be made through ParkMobile or with coins.
