~ The City of Bloomington's Common Council is seeking dedicated individuals to serve on the Jack Hopkins Social Services Committee in 2026. This opportunity allows residents to play a crucial role in ensuring that funding is allocated to those who are directly addressing the city's most pressing needs.
Comprised of four members of the Common Council and three City residents with expertise in social services, including grant administration, philanthropy, and nonprofit organizations, the Committee will be responsible for recommending three City residents to serve as members. The 2026 Committee Chair will make these recommendations.

The Committee will convene six times between January and June 2026 to establish program guidelines, review applications from social service agencies, and ultimately make funding recommendations to the Common Council.
Interested individuals can submit their applications through the Jack Hopkins Committee website. The deadline for submissions is January 7, 2026.
Since its establishment in 1993, the Jack Hopkins Social Services Fund has distributed nearly $7 million to organizations providing essential services to Bloomington residents. In 2026, the Committee will have a budget of $500,000 to allocate towards these vital services. This presents a unique opportunity for community members to make a meaningful impact by serving on the Jack Hopkins Social Services Committee.
