~ Bloomington, IN - The City of Bloomington Department of Housing and Neighborhood Development (HAND) is offering residents the opportunity to improve their neighborhoods through various grant programs. Applications for funding are now available for the 2025 application cycle.
One of the grants being offered is the Neighborhood Improvement Grant, which aims to empower neighborhood groups to address specific concerns and needs within their community. This resident-driven project has a broad neighborhood-wide benefit and is expected to award approximately $30,000 in grant funding in 2025. Some common projects that have been funded in the past include neighborhood entrance signs, traffic circle murals, public art installations, playground equipment, historic sidewalk restorations, and community benches and landscaping.
To be eligible for this grant, residents must attend one of two virtual informational meetings on January 30 or February 4. Letters of Intent are due by February 17 and completed applications must be submitted by March 27. More information about program guidelines and the application link can be found at bton.in/NIG25.
