~ Bloomington Mayor Kerry Thomson has announced that she will be hosting a Traveling Town Hall event on Monday, Feb. 3 at Summit Elementary. The event, which will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m., will also feature Police Chief Michael Diekhoff and Councilmember Isabel Piedmont-Smith.
The purpose of the Traveling Town Hall is to provide residents with the opportunity to directly connect with local leaders, ask questions, and learn more about city initiatives. The evening will begin with a brief update from Mayor Thomson on current and upcoming projects. Following the update, attendees will have the chance to submit questions on index cards distributed at the door. These questions will then be addressed by Mayor Thomson, Chief Diekhoff, and Councilmember Piedmont-Smith.

If time permits, there will also be a live Q&A session for additional questions. This event is part of the City's ongoing effort to ensure accessible government and foster open communication between residents and officials.
The Traveling Town Hall is hosted in a different district every other month in order to provide community members with the opportunity to learn about city services, ask questions, and share feedback on topics that matter to them. Residents of District 1 and anyone interested in city projects or local topics are encouraged to attend this welcoming space where they can connect with city officials, ask questions, and stay informed about projects and initiatives that impact Bloomington.
For those unable to attend in person, the meeting will be broadcast live on Community Access Television Services (CATS) and available for on-demand viewing at catstv.net. Mayor Thomson hopes that this event will encourage residents to become more involved in their local government and stay informed about important issues affecting their community.
