~ Bloomington, IN- The City of Bloomington Commission on the Status of Women has announced the highly anticipated 2024 Women's History Month Luncheon. The event will take place on Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 12-1:30 p.m. at the Monroe Convention Center, located at 302 S College Ave.
This year's luncheon will align with the national theme of Women's History Month, which is "Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion." The theme aims to recognize and celebrate women across the country who are working towards eliminating bias and discrimination in all aspects of life and institutions.
The keynote presenter for this year's luncheon will be Karrah Herring, J.D. Herring was appointed by Governor Eric Holcomb in November 2020 as Indiana's first-ever Chief Equity, Inclusion and Opportunity Officer. A native and resident of South Bend, IN, Herring holds an undergraduate degree from Purdue University and a Juris Doctorate from Valparaiso University School of Law.

In addition to Herring's keynote address, the luncheon will also honor the recipients of the 2024 Women's Achievement Awards. These awards include categories such as Woman of the Year, Toby Strout Lifetime Contribution Award, and Emerging Leader Award. The winners will be announced at a later date.
The event also offers opportunities for women-owned businesses and local organizations to reserve exhibit space to showcase their work. These exhibits will be available for viewing by attendees before the start of the program.
Businesses and organizations interested in sponsoring the luncheon can complete a sponsorship form. Doors to the event will open at 11:15 a.m., with the program beginning at 12:15 p.m. Tickets are priced at $35 per seat or $350 for a reserved table for eight. They can be purchased in advance through the BCT Box Office located at 114 E Kirkwood Ave or online at the BCT website. Tickets will be available starting February 5th and must be purchased by March 20, 2024 at 5 p.m.
For those in need of financial assistance, scholarships are available to cover the cost of a seat at the luncheon. The deadline to apply for a scholarship is also March 20, 2024 at 5 p.m.
