~ The Bloomington Arts Commission (BAC) has recently announced the launch of its 2025 Artistic Advancement Grant cycles in partnership with the City of Bloomington. This grant aims to support local artists by providing up to $2,000 in funds for expenses incurred between July 1, 2025 and December 31, 2026.
Previously known as the Emerging Artist Grant, the Artistic Advancement Grant is open to artists living and working in Bloomington and can be used for any expenses related to their artistic work. This includes but is not limited to music, visual arts, performing arts, film, architecture, and literature. Eligible artists may apply for this grant twice, with previous awards from the Emerging Artist and Artistic grants counting towards this total.
Applications for the grant are now being accepted until Friday, June 27, 2025. Interested artists can find more information about the grant cycle and access the application form at civiform.bloomington.in.gov/programs/artistic-advancement.

To assist artists in preparing their applications, the BAC will be hosting an Artist Statement Workshop session on Wednesday, May 28 at the Waldron Art Center. Registration for this workshop is available at bton.in/Jp3nq.
In addition, commissioners from BAC will be offering office hours on a first-come, first-served basis during the application period for those who would like to discuss the application process. To schedule an appointment with Holly Warren, Assistant Director for the Arts and Staff Liaison to BAC, interested individuals can contact her at holly.warren@bloomington.in.gov or 812-349-3418.
This grant cycle presents a valuable opportunity for local artists to advance their professional careers and receive financial support for their artistic endeavors. The BAC encourages all eligible artists to apply and take advantage of this opportunity provided by the City of Bloomington.
