~ The Bloomington Arts Commission (BAC) and the City of Bloomington have announced the launch of their 2024 Artistic Advancement grant cycles, aimed at supporting local artists. The grants, which will be awarded in the amount of $1,000 each, are open for applications from Monday, August 12 to Friday, September 20, 2024.
Formerly known as the Emerging Artist Grant, the Artistic Advancement grant is designed to assist artists living and working in Bloomington, Indiana with their professional career advancement. The funds can be used for any expenses related to their artistic work and are available to artists practicing any generally recognized art form such as music, visual arts, performing arts, film, architecture, literature and more.

Artists who receive this grant will have the opportunity to apply for it twice. It should be noted that previous recipients of the Emerging Artist Grant can also apply for this grant cycle.
To provide further assistance and guidance to potential applicants, Bloomington Arts Commissioners will be holding office hours between Monday, August 19 and Monday, September 16. Those interested in discussing the application process can schedule an appointment with a commissioner by contacting Holly Warren at holly.warren@bloomington.in.gov or 812-349-3534.
